The Preschool classroom offers a cozy, nurturing atmosphere that encourages a relaxed and joyful experience for children aged 2.5 to 5 years old.
Our educational approach, inspired by Waldorf principles, emphasizes providing ample time for children to engage in open-ended, imaginative play, focusing on the development of social and emotional skills, and fostering a deep connection between each child and the natural world. We embrace a philosophy that aims to stimulate and nurture all of a child's senses during this brief yet crucial developmental period. This Waldorf-inspired method recognizes the immense importance of these early years in a child's life and seeks to create a rich, holistic learning environment.

Play is vital to a young child's development. Engaging in imaginative, open-ended play is closely linked to academic success in later school years. The music immersion Preschool offers children hands-on, playful musical experiences that foster their growth. This type of open-ended play encourages creativity and collaboration; when you introduce various musical instruments, you can expect to see many spontaneous concerts emerge!
Aural Skills
Skills are developed through various musical activities, including singing, imitating different rhythms, listening to live music, following verbal instructions, and recognizing musical elements such as intervals, chords, major and minor qualities, tempo, and dynamics. Children also engage in playing alongside the teacher and collaborating with their peers in ensembles.
Kinesthetic Skills
Preschool children have a natural enthusiasm for movement! It’s crucial for them to learn through physical activity. We will dance, march, skip, clap, stomp, freeze, and jump to a variety of tempos, rhythms, and moods.
Visual Skills
We will explore the musical alphabet both forwards and backwards, identify patterns on the piano and within the bass and treble clefs, and start recognizing and naming basic rhythmic values.
Tactile Skills
Musical skills are honed through a variety of activities. These include singing exercises, rhythm imitation, experiencing live music performances, and following verbal instructions. Children also learn to identify musical elements such as intervals, chords, major and minor qualities, tempo, and dynamics. Additionally, they gain practical experience by playing alongside the teacher and participating in ensemble performances with their classmates.
Basic Improvisation
Improvisation allows children to feel comfortable while singing or playing instruments like the piano, drums, or kinder harp. It enhances their aural skills and fosters flexibility, all while being a fun and often whimsical activity.
Listening Skills
Listening to notable music and stories about composers will cultivate a love and appreciation for music.
The Melody Meadow Preschool offers a flexible schedule with options for 2, 3, 4, or 5 morning sessions each week. Our Waldorf-inspired curriculum includes daily circle and story time, music classes, and outdoor playtime in all weather conditions. Each week, children will engage in painting with high-quality watercolors, explore color through drawing, and create sculptures using homemade play dough or clay. They will also experience wet felting and participate in various crafting projects.The outdoor play area is designed to promote physical development and imaginative play, featuring open spaces for running, climbing, jumping, and swinging. Additionally, there is a large covered area that protects ongoing craft projects, allowing for creative play even during rainy weather. This comprehensive program aims to nurture children's creativity, physical skills, and imagination while providing a balanced mix of structured activities and free play in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Preschool Schedule
NOW ENROLLING for the 2024-25 School Year running from September 9th, 2024 to June 13th, 2025!
Our Preschool program can serve a maximum of 6 children daily to ensure the best learning experience for each child in the group.
Our 4-hour morning program can be scheduled for 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week from 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM.
For 2-day or 3-day attendance consecutive days are preferred, but other arrangements can be made depending on availability.
2-day Schedules:

3-day Schedules:
- M/T/W - T/W/Th - W/Th/F (consecutive days are best for children)
4-day Schedules:

Preschool Tuition and fees for 2024-25 School Year
2-day program is $6,400
made in 10 monthly installments of $640
3-day program is $8,650
made in 10 monthly installments of $865
4-day program is $10,400
made in 10 monthly installments of $1,040.00
5-day program is $12,200
made in 10 monthly installments of $1,220
A one-time non-refundable application fee of $50.00 per family is due on an interview meeting.
Upon acceptance there is a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $100.00 per child.
Tuition is prorated for mid-year enrollment.
